Sushi & gelato!

My manager Annette is in town for a few days and she loves sushi! Our co-worker suggested we try Wakamono located at 3317 N. Broadway in Lakeview. It was a little bit of hike from the office but we weren’t pressed for time.

I started off with a sakitini! (grey goose, chilled gekkeikan, cucumber)
I love the mix of vodka and saki together.
We ordered the baked scallops in spicy a lemon mayo sauce

I did not like this appetizer at all! The scallops had a terrible constancy and the sauce was too spicy.
We ordered two rolls to share…

godzilla roll
shrimp tempura, crab, avocado, cream cheese, spicy unagi sauce, tempura crumbs, wasabi mayo, scallion

kani chung roll
king crab, tempura crumbs over spicy albacore tuna, asparagus, unagi sauce, toasted sesame

Both rolls were delicious but we had room for desert…

We walked by this incredible gelato shop, Paciugo on Broadway. We HAD to stop in! The flavors looked amazing!
I found out that the gelato averages about 140 to 170 in calories and 3.5 to 6 grams of fat, which is 70 percent less fat than premium ice cream. Pretty cool, eh?
One of the flavors I tried was Roasted Banana Cashew Heath Crunch which is their flavor of the month. The server told me they used real bananas, awesome! Annette really liked the amaretto flavor which is made with real amaretto cookies.

If you live in Chicago you MUST try this place out!!!!
