Wednesday!

I didn’t know what to call this post so I titled it “Wednesday!”
Happy hump day! For some reason, this week is going by super slow for me. Yesterday I ran on the lake after work. I was getting terrible side cramps and it was so annoying and frustrating!
Here are some tactics to avoid/manage painful side cramps:
Breathe: In through the nose and out through the mouth. If you are not breathing consistently, it can cause a cramp. Posture: Sometimes when I run I noticed I tend to slouch. When I pull my shoulders back, it releases some of the tension that causes cramping and allows oxygen to flow better throughout my body. I am also more focused on my posture than the pain of the cramp. Stretch: make sure you stretch before and after your workout. Do some torso twists to prepare your body for your workout. Do not run/workout on a full stomach or drink tons of water before running. Running with a full belly is not only uncomfortable but it for sure causes you to cramp up. Take small sips of water or chew gum.Pinch the area that is cramping and breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth several times. This will help oxygen reach the cramped area and help with the pain. I do it all the time, it really works! My Mom says, you need to run through it! Which means, suck it up and keep on going. It will eventually go away on its own.
I tried some new greek yogurt yesterday made by Yoplait.  I tried the flavor with honey…

No honey in sight :-(

Kind of disappointing… I thought for sure there would be honey on the bottom
I also didn’t see any honey in the ingredients…

I’m already not a fan of this yogurt

So I sucked it up and added some Kashi Go Lean Crisp to my artificial yogurt

I ate about half of the container and I was full!
I do not plan on buying the Yoplait honey greek yogurt again but I’m eager to try the plain flavor since it’s only 100 calories for the entire container.
Last night I went to Dublins for dinner and had one of my favorite salads…

Blackened chicken and shrimp salad over mixed greens with avocado, tomato, and cucumber. I was a little annoyed they wouldn’t chop it up for me but it was still delish! They also have a great balsamic dressing that I love.
