Good morning Chicago! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent some quality time with my sister and brother who are in town from college, always great to see my sissy and brudder!
Last night I dined like a princess at Epic. I’ve been to their lounge for drinks but never for a meal. I fell in love with the food, atmosphere, and service.
We ordered some appetizers to share…
Starter on the house: scallops with grapefruit.
House Gnocchi: lamb sausage, swiss chard, & fennel in a creamy sauce
Tuna Tartare: with potato crisps and a salad with fried shallots
Crispy Octopus: adventurous and delicious!
Sam and I split the two entrees below. I love sharing with my friends, that way I can taste a variety!
Seared Sea Scallops: with a squash puree, brown butter, aged balsamic, and a thin slice of crispy bacon as a garnish. Awesome!!!!!!
Chilean Sea Bass: parsnip puree, mustard greens, and truffle
Last but not least the waitress brought us some warm mini mint and chocolate chip cookies. AMAZE.
As I said above, I fell in love with this restaurant! The food was fantastic, flavorful, and fresh. We dined in the upstairs area and I loved that we sat by the windows and watched the snow fall. It wasn’t too loud or too crowded, I was able to converse with my friends and enjoy and ambiance at the same time. The service was also exquisite with friendly and efficient staff . Tip: you know a restaurant has good service when they are constantly re filling your water glass.
I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant, but save it for a special occasion since this an upscale place.
Have a great day!!!!
