Since I don’t have a car I either take the metra (train) to the suburbs or I hop a taxi/bus/el if I am going somewhere local in the city. My neighbor Rico rents zipcars all the time and explained how much money he saves. So today, I rented my first zipcar and ran all my errands on MY time… no waiting for trains, buses, or relying on my family to take me all over the place. Believe it or not, I’ve been a zipcar member for over a year and didn’t even realize it… Wow!
My first zipcar experience was a pleasure. I zipped around the suburbs in a stylish Toyota prius which was located three blocks away from my apartment. To unlock/lock the car, all I had to do was swipe my zipcard to the windshield. The key to the ignition was waiting for me, attached to the inside of the car (on a little pulley). I didn’t have to worry about losing the keys to the car, I just had to make sure I had my zip card with me…duuuhhhhhhh. Insurance, gas, and mileage were included in my reservation as well! I HEART YOU ZIPCAR!!!!
